An evening with Bobby Kennedy

Note: This article was written 7/15/2024 and yes, I’m aware of the current news and events. Also, I do not work for the Kennedy Team.

This last Thursday, I had the pleasure to spend over 2 hours shoulder to shoulder with Bobby Kennedy. Before I give my personal observations about that evening, I’ll address why I was interested in meeting with him to begin with.

American politics is broken, there is no denying. Regardless of your preference in candidates, the fact remains that we are bitterly divided and both sides can only believe in rhetoric and outright deception. Up is down, black is white, straight as a corkscrew, is the old Irish saying, and it aptly applies to what we see and hear daily from our elected leaders. Subdivided further yet by the media and social influencers who are blatantly biased, outright liars and yelling for attention–and did I mention that they lie? And here’s the rub, we all continue to perpetuate the very system that fails to deliver for us. In the business world that type of leadership wouldn’t last for long, as there would be either a house cleaning of upper management, or if it’s beyond fixing and systemically bad enough, a buy/sell would take place. Unfortunately, American voters don’t have the luxury of either of those 2 options. What then are the basic problems and why does the electorate repeat the insanity?

Three Dilemmas: (while there is much more, let’s keep it simple for now)

1.) A manipulative and deeply corrupt 2 party system that cannot and will not ever change. They are firmly in charge, and they dare to gloat in their abuse to our faces.

2.) An even more corrupt media that has essentially become “an unelected 4th Branch of the Government” relentlessly pushing narratives to serve the 2 parties. A very small elite group of players (I know because I’ve met them over the years) decide what we will see and hear daily and are dedicated to changing the social mores and ethics of Americans. They no longer report news, they have crafted in great detail the delivery of their positions in the news instead of giving us the breadth and truth in the news, and they also control the entertainment industry down to the minutiae in scripts and in talent.

3.) Government budgets: It’s just this simple. Follow the money–the system has become so large in size, and the spending is so prodigious, that it can’t be understood, reviewed or truly audited to anyone’s satisfaction–it’s now become the Twilight Zone. Each department and all the tentacles that push outward are self-serving and self-perpetuating for the government instead of serving the electorate. The size of the government with all its trillions in spending, is now the dominant force through our entire economy. Houston, we have a problem–unravelling a significant portion of the Federal spending would in itself be a depression in the making..

For starters, those 3 major dilemmas keep us locked into the 2 party system that cannot and will not self-correct or do surgery on each other.

Personally, my relentless search, has been for rational change that comes from an alternative source. I have followed the career of Tulsi Gabbard closely and of Bobby Kennedy too, in hopes of finding a new way. Last week, I was fortunate to spend an evening shoulder to shoulder with Bobby Kennedy and talk in great length and detail with him.

Here are my take aways.

1.) A genuine guy who has top shelf leadership qualities and yet a down to earth presence. Great knowledge and understanding of the issues and he has specific and rational plans.

2.) Sincere listener and he has the ability to adapt. His positions and policies show the correct insight to do what’s right for the country instead of being entrenched in old positions. My personal belief is that, “eternally fixed political positions are boring and dangerous”.. Remember, no one is right all the time, and no one is in power forever. I like his style and ability to cut through the clutter and to adapt.

3.) He is not owned by the left or the right–our conversation was sensible, easy going and not ego driven. Truly refreshing. Further, it’s obvious that he’s willing to make tough decisions, something neither of the other parties are willing to consider or to do.

4.) He has a lot of energy and is quick–something a leader has to have. He’s absolutely got what it takes to be President.

I could go on, but the basic qualities that develop trust, create leadership and vision are there.

Here’s the bottom line. The current system and the 2 parties are only in the business of expansion–expansion in budgets, war and monolithic growth of the government. We will only get the same cafeteria menu in perpetuity if we keep either of the 2 current powers that be in charge. Bureaucracies can only serve themselves and they can only protect themselves.

I’m done, I’m moving in a new direction and I’m going to support Bobby Kennedy. I talked in detail with him, I like him, and we had a great exchange. I felt good when I walked away. Don’t believe the things you have heard about Bobby–his positions are Pro America, and his positions are rational not radical. I like him–yes, I’ve been shoulder to shoulder with him, and I’m with him.

Do your own due diligence and come to your own conclusion. But here is the reality, “the time is now, and it’s urgent”. The other two choices are BOTH lame ducks next January, both have all kinds of issues and the opportunity and timing are NOW if we want to put the electorate back in the driver’s seat. I can no longer tolerate or support the other 2 parties that are nothing more than “regimes”. Further, the major media needs a seismic jolt, they need to see and hear different results in November that don’t support their narratives. They need to understand that their job is to report the news, not manage it!

Lastly–remember this. In a tight 3-way race it only takes 34%. It can be done. As businesspeople, think of the month or quarter when you didn’t think you could hit a goal, but you did. Think of the times when you faced insurmountable odds and yet you came through. How about Covid? I can remember the Sheriff coming to question why we were open, and they said they would lock the doors–we defied them and stayed open, and we made it!

I hope you will take a long look at Bobby Kennedy and his REAL positions. Make your vote count and don’t repeat the insanity. Those of you know me well, know that I am not liberal or left, I am a realist and I want a leader who is sensible.

all the best to everyone and I hope July is big for you all!
